New heights

Time to get some gates.
This afternoon, Hudson mastered something new. One second I was watching him look on curiously at the staircase, as he's done before, with no attempt to make use of it, and the next, he had clambered up onto the second stair. He then stopped and looked at me with that cheeky grin that tells me he knows he's doing something that a) He's not supposed to, or b) A little person of his size should not be able to do, but can, nonetheless - and then zipped up the rest of the stairs, giggling the whole way!
Needless to say, I didn't try to stop the little inch worm, but instead grabbed for the camera.
On the second stair, where I first caught him

I know I shouldn't be doing this...but...

Almost...almost...
Just about there!
Made it! This is where he flopped onto his tummy and wildly flailed his arms and legs while shrieking, as he tends to do when he's super excited.

And then, less than five minutes after the great stair climb, I caught him doing this:
Attempting to climb through the chair

I couldn't see this ending well

A moment after the tumble...only whimpered for a second or two before he was on to the next task

Yep. We've called him monkey since he was a few days old - and apparently he's still living up to that nickname.
