Bits and pieces of our fun little Halloween:
| Hudson making a big stink about getting into his costume (be prepared for more skunk jokes). |
| Yep. We didn't call him 'Stinks' when he was a baby for nothin'! |
| Autumn, the sweetest little chili pepper, Hudson, and the daddies! We took the little ones out trick-or-treating for a short while. |
| We met papa and grandma along the way! |
| O.R. scrub nurse Hailey! |
| A stop at Darcy, Raquel, and Boston's house capped off the trick-or-treating. |
| Attacking the treats the next day. |

Halloween has never been my favorite holiday. Not for any particular reason, but I think the time and effort that some people put into this day can just get a little much...but that's just my opinion! I really did like it as a kid though - it was fun to carve pumpkins at school, get dressed up and have awards at the school assembly, and go trick-or-treating at night. My costumes were slightly strange at times -
pretty sure I was Mozart one year. Buckles on my shoes. White, curly wig. Puffy pants. Conducting baton. Yep, that's gotta be it.
Anyways, this year we had a couple of friends over, who brought over their adorable five-month-old girl, Autumn. We decided that we needed to end the lull that happens between teens and adulthood where costuming and trick-or-treating is not really the thing to do, and introduce the next ones in line to this somewhat strange (but fun!) tradition. I definitely see why many parents have put the kibosh on trick-or-treating (safety, sugar overload, etc.), but we were fortunate to be out in the country this year, which kind of speaks for itself!
I have never seen Halloween as a celebration of evil - but I also completely understand why some parents do not involve themselves in this holiday for that reason. For now, it is just a silly, make believe kind of event. And as for sugar overload - well, mommy and daddy have gladly taken the hit for that one this year!
AHH Very cute costume Hudson! I'm glad i got to see photos! Even if i didn't get to see it in person :D
