Recent weather has been gray. Damp. Cold. A typical west coast spring. Wait just a second though - I don't remember being trapped in between two mountains, where the moisture-laden sea air is forced upwards, and as a result, falls downwards in the form of misty rain for 10 months out of the year. Sometimes this weather has the tendency to make me
feel gray, damp, and cold. But this year, even though we're getting more than the usual share of it around southern Manitoba (farmers, rejoice!), I don't seem to mind it as much. I think it's because my brain has shifted to a different mindset with the impending move to Mission coming up. These days will
not be few and far between when we live there - and we will just have to adjust accordingly. So, today after seeing the gloomy, soggy mess outside, instead of wimping out and waiting to go pick up the mail and a cabbage from the local store until Ty got home with the car, I got myself and my boy into our rain gear and we headed out in the mud, wind, and puddles. We were filthy upon arriving home, especially because Hudson insisted on me carrying him much of the walk there (holding a muddy, sobbing child in one hand while trying to steer a stroller that was being gusted around by the strong winds was a bit of a feat), but the fresh air was really good! We have to get used to this sometime, right?

Hehe! Puddles on rainy days are the best. I am going to miss that kid.
ReplyDeleteI guess I should share with you dad's family rule as a kid when they were playing in mud puddles. Grandma Kornelsen had a sense of humour about filling your rubber boots only once if it happened again they got spankings. Oh I miss you guys already. Hudson is so precious and so are both of you.
ReplyDeleteOh this makes me so sad that you're leaving! We should really get together before you go
ReplyDeleteWell I guess I know where to send Hudson for a lickin' if he gets water in his boots again - straight to Papa!
