Ok, not all of them. It can get a little PG at times...you know with all the nudity and (ahem) potty mouth. Ok, sounds more like 18A now that I think about it.
I like to discuss such things on this blog in a way for myself to look back on. When I journal, it's often highly charged, and I don't really record stuff like potty training and trips to the park. So this is kind of a way of looking back on all the great day to day stuff that I want to remember!
We ditched our last potty training effort back in December when we moved because Hudson was SO not into it, and it was turning into alot of mommy-son scraps over whose will was going to be stronger. Plus, Hudson was scared of our new place when we first moved in, and we all needed to adjust to regular life before tackling that project again.
The first thing was that Ty brought home a special Lightning McQueen (Hudson's hero) potty - the kind that sits on the ground, rather than just a smaller toilet seat. This was a suggestion of his co-worker's that has turned out to be SO helpful!
Like I said, I won't drag this out - but kind of on a whim one day this past week I asked Hudson if he would wear underpants (his chosen word for gitch instead of a diaper, as well as use his Queen potty, and he happily agreed. Now it's been less than a week, and Hudson is now able to stay dry all day, and even initiate going to the potty on his own! We still do diapers when we leave the house, and at night - but come to think of it, he kept himself dry all evening while we were on a little family outing at Castle Fun Park, even though he was wearing a diaper! Three cheers!
As for the painting, well, I've been working on a few projects right now that I'll be sharing soon. They have been FUN, let me tell you! But, of course, the boy loves to join me with whatever I'm doing, so I'll often strip him down and give him some paint and a paintbrush and just let him go a little wild!
| "Mommy, I'm a fairy godmother princess!" Seriously, that's what he said after wrapping a plastic bag around his waist like a skirt. |
| 17 weeks with Baby July. Thought I'd throw this one in just for fun! And now it's reminding me that I BADLY need to get my hair done again!! |
